Q: May I return the Perfume Oils if I don’t like them?
A: We're sorry but for obvious health reasons, the Perfume Oils are NOT returnable. Please refer to our complete policy on “Orders and Returns” for further details.

Q: Does the thickness or thinness of the oil affect the quality of the oil?
A: No, the thickness or thinness of oil has absolutely nothing to do with its quality. For example, Egyptian Musk is the thickest oil around; having a very mild fragrance, while Arabian Rose is extremely thin in texture, yet very strong. Only a handful of oils are thick, most oils are thin in texture.

Q: Why do many vendors sell oils inexpensively, while your prices are higher than most?
A: There are different grades of oils. The cheaper the grade, the less expensive it is. Apothecary Naturals, LLC sells only “Grade A” oils, which are of the best quality. Our perfume oils have the maximum fragrance component recommended by IFRA (International Fragrance Association) for safe skin contact. The old saying “You get what you pay for” holds true.

Q: Are your products tested on animals?
A: No, Apothecary Naturals does not believe in animal testing, does not test on animals and does not sell any products tested on animals.

Q: What is the staying power of your perfume oils?
A: Our perfume oils last on most people up to 12 hours, depending on your body chemistry.

Q: What is the shelf life of your perfume oils?
A: Unlike perfumes with fillers added, which have a normal shelf life of 6 to 18 months, pure perfume oils keep their fragrance year after year.

Q: Do your perfume oils stain?
A: Our perfume oils are highly concentrated and should not be applied directly to your clothing, some might leave permanent stains. At the same time, the bottles should never be placed on the unprotected surface of finished furniture. If you plan on keeping your perfume oil collection handy on the bedroom dresser, we recommend that you do so only after placing the roll-ons on a glass tray.

Q: Why should I purchase perfume oils instead of designer perfumes?
A: The choice of your fragrance purchase is entirely up to you. We do not and would not advise anybody against buying designer perfumes. We merely point out that when purchasing renowned perfumes your hard earned money is spent on paying for the designer’s name, fancy packaging, the high-end store you are buying it from, the name of whatever celebrity the perfume is identified with and the dilutants it contains, like alcohol and/or water. Designer perfumes contain anywhere from 60% to 92% alcohol and only 8% to 40% perfume oil as well as phthalates, which are plasticizers. Because of their high alcohol content, name brand perfumes have a stronger scent right after application, which will fade in about two hours. Alcohol will make the oil evaporate 10-15 times quicker, hence the intense aroma, and will also dry out your skin. In some cases, use of perfumes may cause allergic reactions. Acetophenone, ethyl acetate, and acetone present in many perfumes are also known as potential respiratory allergens.

Q: What is the difference between Dead Sea Mineral Glow and Dead Sea Satin Body Scrub?
A: The Dead Sea Mineral Glow is the traditional salt and oil blend scrub, which exfoliates and leaves an oily film on your skin and in the shower/bathtub. The Dead Sea Satin Body Scrub is a proprietary formula scrub, which exfoliates, moisturizes and it does not leave an oily residue on your skin or in the shower/bathtub. It can be safely used on our face and body to achieve a younger-looking complexion.

Q: What are phthalates?
A: Phthalates are a salt or ester of phthalic acid. They are added to plastic to soften it. When absorbed by the skin, they act as the most powerful estrogens ever known. Studies show that high levels of estrogen cause cancer. Apothecary Naturals, LLC is committed to using only phthalate-free fragrances and essential oils, to provide you with the safest products. The main reason to why we do not carry an impressive amount of fragrances is simple, we did not find the components in a phthalate-free form. Since we are a small family owned business, at the same time we are protecting our family as well from exposure to potentially damaging substances.

Q: What are parabens?
A: Parabens come in a wide variety, as ethyl-methyl-butyl-propyl parabens. They are used as a preservative in certain cosmetics and skin care products. A direct correlation between parabens and cancer has not been determined, the studies performed rendering controversial data. However following the old saying "Better safe than sorry", we prefer to err on the side of safety and use paraben free preservatives.
